I am very curious if knitters and crocheters out there tie a knot when they come to the end of a skein and add a new skein on their projects . Many books and instructors say to not knot, and weave in ends when done. I rarely tie knots, but then I started thinking…….. why not! No one else can see it, so why not!!! You must still weave in the ends on the wrong side of course.
So if you have a preference or an explanation as to why not to knot, then I would love to hear from you. Really!
Have a great holiday weekend, Happy knitting : )

I do knot slippery yarns like perle cotton and bamboo. I do not knot wools.
I think the idea behind not knotting is to keep the object stretchy. There might not be as much give where the knot was. (Of course it would have to be a really big knot for that to really happen!)
