Day 28 of {31} Days of Cup Cozies Challenge – A Girl and Her Kitty

When I was a young girl I had a kitty named George.  George first belonged to our neighbors behind our house.  I remember hearing this little meow so I looked over the fence only to find a medium-sized dog chewing on this little kittens ears.  He was a yellow tabby and so cute and tiny but his ears were all bloody from the dog chewing on his ears.  I was so upset and told my mother what I saw and asked if I could say something to the neighbors, long story short……..I named him George!

George was one of the sweetest cats I ever had and his ears were half gone but I loved him anyway. (True story!)

Day 27 of {31} Days of Cup Cozies Challenge – Pumpkin Trio

This trio of pumpkins has a hint of animal print fashion going on.  Very in style!  The embroidery design goes almost all the way around the cozy, I should have taken a photo of it before sewing up the ends so you could see how pretty it really is.

My favorite parts of cutting a pumpkin up are the guts inside…….. SEEDS! I have baked them in the oven and microwave them too, both work well.  Pumpkin seeds are so good for you.  Here’s a recipe I found from  Allrecipies.com –

Day 26 of {31} Days of Cup Cozies Challenge – Yellow Bird Cup Cozy

This designs looks like christmas with the holly and berries.  Not sure what kind of bird it is but maybe bird watchers would know.

I don’t know anybody who doesn’t like to wake up to the sound of chirping birds in the morning.  It’s such a happy sound! Like they’re saying yay its morning and I caught a worm!!!

One time our cat, Heidi snagged a large bird with her claw out on the railing of our deck.  I quickly went over and tapped her on the head to let it go, she did and the bird flew away.  Another time our youngest cat caught a hummingbird……..umm I don’t want to say what happened, if you get my drift!  Cats do what comes natural to them, its called instinct and we don’t have to like it.   Aside from that, cats make wonderful pets and protectors.

Another time when my mother lived with us she fell during the night and we did not hear her, but Toes the cat (Pictured above) did and howled at our bedroom door till I got up to see what was wrong and found my mother lying on the floor.  Mother was ok but just couldn’t get up.  She would have been there all night if Toes didn’t let us know she was in distress!  (Toes moved into John’s sisters home when we moved to So. Calif)  There a many more stories but maybe for another time.

Day 25 of {31} Days of Cup Cozies Challenge – Sun.

California has many sunny days all year round……. yes even in the winter!  This is one of the reasons why I love California, plus I’m a native here as well.  It can be more expensive to live here than in many other states, and has the same issues as any other state.  But I’m very happy to live here, its beautiful!!
