Day 3…..31 day challenge of cup cozies

31 Days Cup Cozies.jpgDay 3 of 31 day challenge!!

I like candy corn but my husband really loves candy corn so I made this one with him in mine.  This one has three colors, knit flat then the two ends sewn together.  In our house we tend to buy Halloween candy too early then eat most of it then have to buy more for the kiddies.  I suspect a lot of people do this, are you one of them?  Hummm!  This cozy is not for sale and will go to my hubby.

Another challenge I’m having is from my host, forgive me, it seems many of the buttons do not work well for my posts any longer.

Happy knitting : )

31 Day Challenge

31 Days Cup Cozies.jpgFor the next 31 days I would like to attempt a challenge made by http://www.thenester.com/ About committing to change…….well in my case that would just be posting very day on a different knit/embroidered cup cozy.  And on top of that I would like to make each cup cozie available for purchase at my Etsy shop…….now that’s a challenge!!  I tend to be lazy about making new things for my Etsy business.  (I have no problem filling orders on items from the Etsy store though 🙂

Let me say that These little eco-friendly cup cozies will be used over and over again and that means that you are recycling, Yay!!  (The gift that keeps on giving) Ha,ha! They are washable, fun for all seasons, an easy way to identify who you are, great for parties, make great gifts and great for the office.  The cozies can be used for your hot coffee/tea to keep your hands from burning but can be used for icy drinks as well….some people have even used them for their beer bottles.

It’s already day 2 so I have some catching up to do, but I want encourage you to do the same and make just one change in your life and make it for a perod of 31 days. It could even change the people around you…you never know!!

So having said that, here is my 1st day post: A Fall hand knit cozy with colorful autumn leaves embroidered on the front. Available on at my Etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/listing/111095609/embroidered-knit-cup-cozy

Red Kid Seta Cardigan is ready for Fall!!

This red sweater turned out pretty good, and just in time for the Fall season, (Very hot at the moment!!) The free pattern is called Kid Seta cardigan from the Cascade Yarns website: http://cascadeyarns.com/patterns_sweaters.asp

I used the alpaca blend I won on Ebay. I knit loose, so I knitted with size 3 US circular needles instead of the recommended size 6 US.  Some people had problems with this cardigan coming out too large so that is another reason why I went with a smaller needle.

This cardi is a size medium.  The pattern is straight-forward (flat knitting) then seamed.  It was an easy knit and I would consider making another one some time.  I kept the sleeves rolled because I liked the look…..but down the road might steam them straight.

I had to upload the pictures from my phone to the post because the media button from the laptop wasn’t working….very strange….so this picture looks kinda grainy.

Love this time of the year but it’s hard to enjoy with all the unusual heat we’ve been having : (

Happy Fall and knitting : )

Knit then Embroider!!!

I have an embroidery machine (Janome) as some of you may know from one of my blog posts.  I’m currently embroidering on cup/mug cozies.  If you have one of those amazing machines then why not get creative and embellish on your favorite knit or crochet purses etc.!  Here are sample of what I’m embroidering on these days.

There is an incredible selection of designs online that could be used on your knitting projects like  coasters, a cardigan, headbands, etc.  I do not recommend embroidering on felted knits……..the fabric is way too dense.   Well, it might work on felted sock yarn, though.

I’m still working on the red cardigan in lace/sock yarn, only have one sleeve left to knit.  Can hardly wait to see how it turns out and to post about it.

Hope your having a great week…Happy knitting : )
