Day 8 {31 Days} of Cup Cozies – Spiderweb

Today is day 8 {31 Days of Cup Cozies} – Spiderweb and Spider.  I am very afraid of spiders, I know they are small little creatures and do good stuff for the garden but none the less I’m afraid of them.  I once got a spider bite on the top of my hand that started to fester and grow.  Talk to the doctor about it but he said he could not do anything about it.  The bite was very painful and started to spread to other areas of my hand.  Finally, I tried peroxide every few hours it worked and I continued to heal.  So it’s no wonder that I’m afraid of them.

The spider cozy was a hard one for me to make (afraid of spiders) but came out pretty cool!  At least with a green spider it doesn’t look quite as scary….maybe I should try a pink one : )

31 Days (Day 7) of Cup Cozies – Snowman

For day 7 – {31 days} of cup cozies!

A snowman cozy for those who already have cold weather and for those wishing it is cold now.

Southern California is finally getting some relief from the unusually hot weather we had late summer to now getting a well deserved cool down.

Late this summer our tomato plant was hit with white flies.  We never had that problem before, it’s usually the dreaded horn worm.  At first I didn’t know what was attacking the tomato plant, but with a closer look I noticed these tiny little white specks.  Well, they are impossible to get rid of and just when I thought I was out of the clear…..they came back again.  Then the little flies attacked the kitties catnip and our basil, and flowers.  The only thing standing in our patio is all our cactus and lime tree.  I have since done some research…… so that next year the plants will be protected from those little white speck!!

31 Days (Day 6) of Cup Cozies –

For day 6 of 30 days of cup cozies I have chosen daisies.
 
 
Daisys are one of my favorite flowers.  Wikipedia says Asteraceae or Compositae (commonly referred to as the aster, daisy, or sunflower family), are an exceedingly large and widespread family of Angiospermae.  The group has more than 23,000 currently accepted species, spread across 1620 genera and 12 subfamilies…… That is about as technical as I’m going to get here, but all I care about is its beauty!  Remember……he loves me he loves me not!

31 Days (Day 5) of Cup Cozies – Boo

 
 
Got another Boo for you. Remember as a kid (and maybe even now) you loved to scare friends and family with a boo as they came around the corner?  I certainly did and though it was so much fun…..it probably was not very nice.  This cozy reminds me of just that!!  Cozy is knit in black yarn and embroidered with white lettering.

That’s Portia kitty on the pillow and Heidi kitty on the bottom.  Portia tries really hard to be close to her but the only way she can do that is to sneak up when Heidi is asleep.  Clever!

Day 4 of 31 days of cup cozies

Day 4 is a Halloween cozy with the word Boo and some cute bats flying around. I actually think some bats are kind of cute. When my family went to Marine World in Vallejo, California there was a collection of live bats that were eating fruit I think. The bats had really cute little faces and the bats hung upside down on the keepers arm.  Well enough with the creepies, hahaha!
