Day 13, of 31 Day Challenge – Sisters are Special

I have a sister who lives in Northern California, boy, how I miss her.  When my husband and I moved it meant leaving my best friend and shopping buddy behind.  On our birthdays we would take each other out for breakfast or lunch, then go shopping for the day.  It was so much fun.  Well now my sister visits on my birthday or there abouts and we still have lunch, but we don’t get to see each other nearly as often.  We do Skype when we get the chance but it’s not quite the same.

Day 12 {31 Days} of Cup Cozies – Rooster

Day 12 coffee cozy – Rooster

I have been collecting roosters (a small collection) around our home.  They are beautiful creatures, so many different colors and sizes.

I don’t know much about them, I do know that they start the wake-up call as the sun rises.   And though roosters do not produce eggs….they do attribute to the egg cycle at some point.  I also learned that sometimes we unknowingly eat rooster instead of chicken that we buy from the store. (Wish I didn’t know that.)

I have  a Janome embroidery machine and just love it.  I do not digitize my own designs, like this rooster however I would like to. I would need to get a software program, and those are expensive and of course I need to learn how to use it. Maybe someday! The designs I use are bought from websites and loaded onto my embroidery machine.

Day 11 {31 Days} of Cup Cozies – Relax

Day 11 is …..Relax, you deserve it!

We get all caught up in what to do next and are always rushing so much that we forget to enjoy and appreciate what’s right in front of us now.  We need to be more in the moment.  Well speaking for my self….I definintly have a problem with that, how about you?

Day 10 {31 Days} of Cup Cozies – Red Hat Cozy

My husdand’s aunt Kathy is a member of the Red Hat Society, so this cozy is in honor of her.  She loves going out to lunches, and tours with the Red Hat ladies.

The Red Hat Society (RHS) is a social organization originally founded in Fullerton, California on April 25, 1998. Day 9 {31 Days} of Cup Cozies – Kitty

It’s no secret that my friends and family know that I LOVE CATS, and now….. so do you!

I found this design on www.embroiderydesigns.com and new I had to have it in my collection of designs for my machine embroidery.

We have three cats that sort of get along, and each one has its own cute personality.  Two of them are sisters, Romie and Heidi, and are about 17 years old (Must be doing something right.)  The other one is Portia of whom our son named (she really belongs to him) but due to circumstances beyond his control, she became ours.  Portia is about 7 years old and such a delight but likes to tease the two older gals when ever she has the chance.  In one photo you’ll see Heidi is laying on a kneading cloth, I came up with the idea to protect our clothing for when they feel like kneading us. Haha!  The cats really love it though.
